Born: 7th March 1928, Calcutta , Bengal, India

Died: 21st April 2010

              

He was one of the main pillars of Bengal's batting in 1950's and recipient of Kartick Bose Lifetime Achievement Award from The Cricket Association Of Bengal in July 2008. Mr.Prasun Mukherjee, President Of C.A.B. & the comissioner of Calcutta police along with Shri Gopalkrishna Gandhi, the governor of West Bengal handed over this award to him at the Annual Award Ceremony, held at Eden Gardens Kolkata, On Saturday 19th July 2008.
